Prevent your couch from getting dirty

An important step in the cleaning process, is trying to keep the couch as clean as possible. Of course, you cannot prevent dust from getting on the couch. Vicious spots can be prevented by, for example, not pouring red wine while sitting on your white couch. When you are afraid it will get dirty because there are kids running around with food or craft supplies, you can cover the couch with a blanket. This keeps the worst spots from getting on the couch itself.

Keeping loose dirt off

The first step in cleaning your couch is cleaning off all dust and loose dirt. This can be done with a dry microfiber cloth. This is static, so the dust will stick to it. Do not make the cloth wet. Loose dirt can also be removed with a vacuum cleaner. Use a special attachment so you won’t damage the couch. If possible, also vacuum between and underneath the pillows. Removing spots on rough leather

Rough leather cannot withstand water. Never clean your rough leather couch with water or a wet cloth to prevent permanent discoloration. Use a cleaning product meant for rough leather.
