Leather is cold and sticky

One of the most used arguments for not choosing leather is that it feels cold and is sticky. This is definitely a MYTH. Unless you choose real upper skin leather. Leather can be compared to your own skin, your upper skin has pores, so it can breathe. Upper skin leather does the same. Leather always takes its surroundings temperature. This way leather is never colder or warmer than its surroundings. When leather can breathe properly, it is almost impossible for the leather to stick to your skin or feel cold. And if it happens to feel cold, this will never take longer than a few seconds. After that, it will adapt to your body temperature so you can also enjoy your beautiful leather couch, even on sunny days and you won’t have to worry about sticking to your furniture.

Leather can have different finishing. There is leather with a wear-resistant protective layer, we call this covered leather or semi-aniline leather. This kind of leather is dirt repellent and easy to maintain. Due to the protective layer, it might take a slight bit longer for the leather to adapt to your body temperature.

Nowadays most people are charmed by the natural leather. Or in other words; Aniline leather. This kind of leather’s structure is not corrected at all and does not have a protective layer. This keeps the leather very natural and you will be able to see the characteristics in the leather. Leather in this category breathes the most and will adapt to your body temperature the quickest.
